For the third time in his career, Ben Saunders is parting ways with the UFC.

MMA Fighting confirmed with the fighter’s management that he has been released in the wake of four consecutive losses, following an initial report by MMA Junkie. Saunders (22-13-2) was 2-6 in his most recent stint with the promotion.

The 36-year-old has a longstanding relationship with the UFC dating back to his time as a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 6 back in 2007. He was cut in 2010 before heading to Bellator for a 10-fight stint and returned to the Octagon 2014. Saunders would compete for the UFC four more times before declining to re-sign with the promotion in 2016 and then returning a year later.

Overall, Saunders holds a 9-10 record in the UFC, including notable wins over Jake Ellenberger, Court McGee, Joe Riggs, and Marcus Davis. In his most recent outing at UFC 245 in December, he lost to Matt Brown by second-round KO.
