Round 1: The third man in the cage for the co-main event is Keith Peterson. Hill takes the center of the cage early and is staying busy but on shots landed for either fighter yet. Gadelha goes for a takedown but backs off it and lands a right hand. Hill landing crisp punches while Gadelha is throwing powerful hooks. Gadelha also working a decent jab. Neither woman looks to be settled in yet and the two clash in the center and throw hooks before Gadelha gets underhooks and drives Hill to the fence. Gadelha is keeping Hill pinned to the cage but she has yet to land any shots, focused entirely on pursuing the takedown. Gadelha finally gets it by switching her leverage and bodylock tripping Hill backwards. Now Gadelha is in side control but with only a minute left in the round. Hill scoots to the fence while Gadelha is trying to isolate Hill into knee on belly to land ground-and-pound. She does and Hill eats a few shots but gives up her back and then scrambles to the feet against the cage as the horn sounds.

MMAFighting scores the round 10-9 Gadelha.

Round 2: Hill cannot afford to concede another takedown as she does not appear to be able to shake Gadelha on the floor. And Hill comes out firing uppercuts which may be a direct response to that. Hill is trying to fight long and Gadelha is countering and waiting for her opportunity to shoot. A jab from Hill opens up a cut on the right eye of Gadelha. Hill cracks Gadelha with a right hand that drops the former title challenger! Hill wisely lets Gadelha up and Gadelha is in retreat mode right now. Hill is peppering with shots and defends a single leg from Gadelha. Hill seems to have found her range but Gadelha lands a good right hook that pauses Hill and allows Gadelha to shoot and drive Hill to the fence. Hill reverses the position though and now she’s grinding Gadelha against the cage before the two separate. Hlil is ducking her head as she steps in and Gadelha is trying to time the counter hook and she cracks Hill twice with it. Hill is now targeting the body and that’s going to pay dividends. Gadelha really sitting down on her shots now but Hill lands a crisp combo to end the round.

MMAFighting scores the round 10-9 Hill, 19-19 overall.

Round 3: It’s anyone’s fight heading into the third round but this is where Gadelha has historically started to fade. Hill lands a sharp jab to open the round. Gadelha cracks Hill as Hill steps in for a combo. Big left hook lands for Hill after an exchange. Huge leg kick from Gadelha gets a reaction from Hill. Hill is stepping in for combinations much more now and she’s eating shots for her troubles. At range, Hill is potshotting effectively but she clearly wants more. Angela’s lead hand is now tattooing Hill’s face. Gadelha could use a takedown but Hill is dictating range well and briefly wobbles Gadelha with a left hook. Beautiful step in knee for Hill and she’s starting to take over. Gadelha is still throwing back heat but not a lot of volume and the shots are slower. Hill is avoiding the counters much better now. Gadelha corrals Hill against the fence but Hill is doing a great job of not being stuck there. Big elbow and right hand from Gadelha as there is short time. Gadelha emptying the tank now and that was a hell of a scrap.

MMAFighting scores the round 10-9 Hill, 29-28 Hill overall.

OFFICIAL DECISION: Claudia Gadelha defeats Angela Hill by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).
