Thiago Moises and Jalin Turner will collide in a lightweight showdown in Las Vegas, NV, on Sept. 5, multiple sources told MMA Fighting. The UFC Fight Night show will take place at the UFC Apex and feature Alistair Overeem vs. Augusto Sakai in the main event.

Combate first reported the matchup.

Moises (13-4) is coming off the biggest win of his MMA career, a second-round submission over longtime octagon veteran Michael Johnson in May.

The former RFA lightweight champion went 2-2 in his first four UFC bouts, with a win over Kurt Holobaugh sandwiched between decision defeats to Damir Ismagulov and Beneil Dariush.

Turner (9-5), who also signed with the company after impressing UFC president Dana White on the Contender Series, is coming off a second-round TKO victory over Joshua Culibao in February.

A two-time Bellator veteran, “The Tarantula” earned both of his UFC wins by knockout, stopping Culibao and Callan Potter, with his two defeats coming against welterweight Vicente Luque and lightweight Matt Frevola.
