McGregor calls Nurmagomedov’s father a ‘quivering coward’

When Conor McGregor gets into a feud, there tends to be collateral damage.

The former two-division UFC champion already had a heated relationship with Khabib Nurmagomedov before they were officially scheduled to fight, but now that a date has been booked for Nurmagomedov to defend his lightweight title against McGregor at UFC 229 on Oct. 6, the trash talk is in full swing.

On Friday, McGregor took a shot at Nurmagomedov’s father and coach Abdulmanap, calling him a “quivering coward” on social media.

He also references Nurmagomedov directly in the post, accusing him of the same cowardice.

McGregor’s latest verbal volley is possibly in retaliation for Abdulmanap’s recent comments in which he questioned the validity of McGregor’s lightweight title reign and also boasted that his son’s wrestling will be too much for “The Notorious” to overcome.

Nurmagomedov himself has said that he plans to make Mcgregor pay for what he perceives as disrespectful behavior. During the fight week for UFC 223 in April, McGregor and several associates made an unscheduled appearance at a media day and proceeded to rampage through the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The now-infamous attack saw McGregor hurl a dolly and shattering the window of a bus that was transporting Nurmagomedov and several other UFC fighters. McGregor would later plead guilty to one count of disorderly conduct.

In July, McGregor made an appearance at the 2018 World Cup, posing with Russian president Vladimir Putin in what some perceived as another sly shot at Nurmagomedov.
