Brian Foster vs. Natan Schulte headlines PFL 5

Playoff spots are on the line in the lightweight and light heavyweight division when the PFL returns to action on Aug. 2.

Lightweights Brian Foster and Natan Schulte will headline the event at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. MMAJunkie was first to report the card.

Foster (28-10) is coming off a third-round TKO finish of Ramsey Nijem at PFL 2, which earned him four points. Schulte (12-3), for his part, earned three points for his decision victory over Chris Wade at the same event.

In another lightweight bout of note, former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks (19-4), who has three points thanks to a decision win over Luiz Firmino at PFL 2, meets Robert Whatley (11-1), who has five points.

In a light heavyweight matchup, veteran Vinnie Magalhaes (15-9, 1 NC), who earned six points for a first-round finish of Jamie Abdallah at PFL 2, takes on Brandon Halsey (11-3), who earned four points with a third-round win over Smealinho Rama on June 21.

The other main-card bouts on the event (which will be televised on NBCSN) are lightweight Rashid Magomedov (22-2, zero points) vs. Firmino (19-9-1, zero points) and a light heavyweight bout between Maxim Grishin (27-7, six points) and Rakim Cleveland (19-9-1, four points).
